about me;

My name's nemu. I'm British; living in the north-west of the United Kingdom where I reside in a forest, beating a drum with a fork only at three o'clock in the morning. In the summertime, I use these moments to reflect while watching the yellow sunrise peeping over the edge of the local children's crèche.

Ashamedly, I'll admit that I don't actually have a drum, and nor do I sit in the forest. But the rest of this paragraph is true. Trust me?

I've been described as friendly, likeable, flirtatious and ambitious. But also as shy, stubborn, aggressive and a total bitch. But even though we don't like to admit it, we all have two faces, right? Sometimes these aren't just simply black and white. But most often I'll adopt the likeliness of the mysterious stranger and the over-enthusiastic dork. My company depends which I'll take on.

what i like;

You'll most often find me head-banging to inappropriate songs; scribbling down stories on any writeable surface. Either that, or at the gym on the elliptical cross trainer. Watching the rain that falls forever on not-so-sunny Scotland. Listening to rock bands like Placebo, Marilyn Manson and the Pink Spiders. Or to boybands such as NEWS, KAT-TUN and Arashi. Or throwing my preferred genres aside for the comfort of the religious Casting Crowns and iconic Michael Jackson.

Diving further into the world of literature and media: my preferred genres in books are realism, romance and (psychological) thrillers; in films it's horror. My favourite author is Chuck Palahniuk by far, and film is either "L Change the World" or "Dead Silence".

I write all year round, most often on original pieces varying between 50,000-170,000 words each. Covering subjects such as ghost legends; gang fights; imprisonment and suicidal puppet-craftsmen. Most of my work deals primarily with a male protagonist, often internally battling with issues about sexuality and learning the difference between good, evil and the numerous shades of grey in-between.
